What remained of the motor yacht "Too Elusive" was carried on a barge into the mouth of the Piscataqua River and to a salvage yard in Newington where it will remain for the foreseeable future.

Coast Guard and salvage crews spent Saturday morning retrieving the 70-foot yacht from the waters of the coast of Kittery, Maine, using airbags to lift the boat from the bottom of the ocean and a modified barge to bring it ashore.

"They are able to inflate certain air-lift bags, re-orient it under water and get it so that when it broke the surface, it came correctly oriented upright," said Lt. Com. Ryan Koroknay with the U.S. Coast Guard.

The yacht caught fire just off Little Harbor in New Castle on June 18, forcing all three people and 2 dogs to jump overboard. Luckily, they were all rescued by a nearby lobsterman.

Saturday was the third time crews had tried to salvage the yacht which was leaking diesel fuel into the ocean. The previous two attempts were called off due to bad weather and tides.

"The luck of this case if there is such a thing the ocean and wind conditions have been primarily off shore. So it has kept that stuff away from the shorelines, and we haven't seen anything come to shore," said Gardner Warr with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.

Once the boat makes it to the salvage yard, it will remain there while New Hampshire State Police continue to investigate what started that fire.
