One thing that makes APC’s Vice Presidential Candidate Senator Kashim Shettima an all-round achiever, was his capacity to think out of the box for solutions to the most intractable problems. In his years as governor of Borno state, he was known as that governor that was fighting and working at the same time. He fought well and worked even harder to give Borno its best ever in terms of development.

The Borno Industrial Hub – housing 16 different manufacturing plants, situated along the busy Kano road, in the state capital is eye-catching as you drive into the city. You can’t help but notice a gigantic industrial city bubbling with life and churning out products that are used internally and are exported to countries out of our shores. Most of these plants have fired and have pushed products into local and international markets.

The beauty of it is that despite the running with insurgents for his while eight years in office, he had the presence of mind to achieve what states in absolute peace were no where near.

Tomato Processing Machine He built more than 40 mega (boarding) primary schools, to replace schools that were burnt down by the insurgents. Pupils intake into these world class primary schools came from communities and orphans of victims of the Boko Haram pogrom.
