Create fun, textural backgrounds for your portraits with acrylic paint and stencils! Transfer photographs of loved ones, pets, or even your home or garden onto a Gelli plate to create unique, playful mono prints. UV Digital Compatible Media

This is a two-day class. The first day we will experiment with paint and stencils to create layered pieces on copy paper to learn how the process works. We will then make two 8-inch by 10-inch monoprints on 10.6-inch by 13.8-inch paper. On the second day, we will transfer our portraits to our monoprint backgrounds and embellish the images with type or collage paper.

No experience is necessary, but you must bring your creativity and sense of playfulness! Gelli plates, brayers, stencils, and paper will be provided. Please bring your own acrylic paints (red, yellow, blue, white, and black). Feel free to bring any stencils, bubble wrap, cardboard, or stamps for experimenting.

Class size is limited to 10 students.
