SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass.—Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions, a division of Hyde Tools Inc., acquired the square edge slitting knives line from Thurston Manufacturing of Smithfield, R.I.
No purchase terms were disclosed, but a Hyde news release noted that there will be no outward change for Thurston square edge slitting knife customers during the transition. Tungsten Carbide Double Edge Blades
Production for the line will be moved to Hyde's ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Southbridge. The purchase covers the product line and machinery to service existing Thurston customers. The line of knives are used for cutting of thin sheet metal, paper, cloth and fabric.
Founded in 1883, Thurston specializes in the manufacturing and supplying of custom saw blades and circular cutting tool products.
A wholly owned division of the Hyde Group, Hyde Industrial services markets including food processing, cloth, textile and leather, hose and tube, tire and rubber, plastics processing, paper converting, packaging and abrasives and general industrial.
